Why statistics?

Running the race

Management and Sports Coaches

How do you measure the success of top athletes?

Number of scores, the number of games won or the end of year premiership trophy?

Coaches have statistics on each player’s achievements and performance.

Its difficult in professional sports to coach on the field. The coach is like senior management and finds it best to coach from a distance where he / she can observe and direct the action.

So it is with the managing a company.

Just like a Coach, Management needs to see individual statistics for every staff member.

Why?

By stating exactly what each staff member is supposed to produce and inspecting whether or not they actually know what this is and if it is actually happening, a great deal can be learned, and management can be very effective.

As a Coach, if your players and athletes understand where they have gone wrong they are much more likely to learn from their mistakes and strive to improve and not fail again in the future.

Likewise when a team or athlete wins, a good coach will obviously celebrate the achievement. This encourages teams and individuals to remain dedicated to always improving and not becoming complacent.

Your staff are your most important asset.

Without job satisfaction, staff come and go like the tides and the business has no power, it will not grow. It will be a headache to manage and no one will have fun. Profits will sag.

A business that has happy and motivated staff is a joy to work in. It grows quickly and makes tremendous profits.

Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest. Staff incentives need not be complicated.

By stating exactly what each staff member is supposed to produce and inspecting whether or not they actually know what this is and if it is actually happening, a great deal can be learned, and management can be very effective.

If you reward each and every staff member for doing what they are supposed to do, and doing it well, the morale of the company will go through the roof, and so will the profits.  This is a proven fact!

An effective staff incentive program is the key to your staffs sense of job satisfaction.

Offering your staff members an incentive that is not directly related to their particular job or does not interest them can actually have an negative effect.

On the other hand, having incentives in place that match the actual activities of each and EVERY job in the business can have a dramatic impact on profits, if the staff are really interested in the reward.

There is an art and science behind a custom designed staff incentive and motivation program. Getting it right is one of the most important keys to your business’s success.

Money is good but it is not always the best incentive.

Groups and Games

What makes a true group?

PURPOSE

If your group operates as a team, with a purpose, there are very few obstacles which will stop its progress.

For a team to operate and operate well, there must be COMMUNICATION present amongst its members so they can address the many situations they are confronted with everyday.  This is just like any game.

All games have a purposes and many obstacles, just like many company experiences in day-to-day operations.

The objective of all games and all business ventures is to overcome obstacles and win by getting results on the score board.

How to measure people

win-win chart

Measure productivity – how to do it manually – Overview

  • How do you measure people?
  • Who can you measure?

I am going to take you through the actions and show you how to establish the criteria to measure anyone of your staff or employees.

The first action is to write down your company name and exactly what the company produces, be very specific without getting too wordy. Example: Affordable Kitchens, Commercial Kitchens, Lavish Kitchens – Cleaned cars – Built houses – Landscaped Properties etc…

What you are looking at is, what the result of the company is. This may alter as you move through this action. After all every employee, staff member, manager or contractor should be aware of what the company is suppose to provide/produce to its clients and then how what they do fits into that end result.
